Let's Take A Hike!

Join us Saturday, October 11th at Matthiessen State Park just South of Utica, IL to enjoy the beautiful autumn scenery and get our legs back in shape for skiing.

Meet at 10:00 in front of the "Fort" in the Dells area and enjoy hiking through 3.2 miles of nature trails through the bluffs, deep scenic canyons and forest. See nature at it's finest with beautiful overlooks, bridges, waterfalls, and places such as the Giant's Bathtub and the Devil's Paint Box. The foliage should be spectacular. For a site map of the park click here.

Items to bring with you: water, 2-way radio (channel 7, band 7), walking or hiking shoes, camera, snacks (lunch food) and drinks for after our hike - there's a picnic grove with tables.

Please note: Since our bike ride of the month which goes to the Burgoo Festival is the following day (click here & see the Oct 12th bikeride flyer), consider staying in the area overnight at a local hotel or campground. If you're interested in camping with a group contact Cathy Draayers at 630-241-3054.
