Sanctuary is not just a ski club, we have tons of other activities all year including: Biking, Picnics, Volleyball, Camping, Concerts, Golf Outings and other events. The following are examples of some of our past events: |

Sunday, June 29th -- Bike Ride of the Month: To the Chicago Botanical Gardens we'll be riding the North Branch Bicycle Trail - meeting at 9 AM for the 30 mile option or 10 AM for the 20 mile option -- For more details click here for a flyer or click here to view pictures from this event last year. Saturday, June 14th -- Bike Ride of the Month: Pre-picnic bike ride Salt Creek Trail - we'll meet at Bemis Woods, picnic grove #1, at 10 AM, travel east to Brookfield Woods and back - the ride will be approximately 13.2 miles around trip on paved surface. Sunday, May 18th -- Wine Tasting Bike Ride of the Month: Just over the border in Michigan we're going to visit five wineries and sample some of the best South Western Michigan wines while only riding a bit over 12 miles (or driving) - for more details click here for a flyer. Saturday, May 10th -- Bike Ride of the Month: the Des Plaines River Trail (Lake County) bike ride -- one of the best bike trails in the Chicago area, we're planning a 22 mile ride starting from Half Day Forest Preserve - for more details click here for a flyer. Friday, May 9th -- Bar of the Month: Join Sanctuary at 6:30 PM for a relaxing evening of pizza and fun at Pazzo's Bar & Eatery, located at 1017 Front Street in Lisle just across from the Metra station - South side. Wednesday, December 19th -- Special Holiday Party Meeting: at North Beach, 1211 Butterfield Road, Downers Grove, (just East, across the parking lot from Hooter's, where our normal meetings are held which is 2 1/2 Blocks east of I-355 on the south side frontage road of Route 56 Butterfield Road) at 8:30 p.m. We will have a short meeting in a casual, Jimmy Buffet style atmosphere, appetizers and have a sand volleyball court reserved - so, wear shorts and plan on playing volleyball. Non-members are welcome! Also, if people would like to bring Christmas cookies to share -- GREAT -- please, bring them, thanks. Sunday, October 7th -- Bike Ride the I & M Canal, Utica's Burgoo Festival: Burgoo Festival - meet at 10:30 at the Buffalo Rock State Park and ride the I & M Canal. Saturday, October 6th - Hiking at Starved Rock: Enjoy the beautiful scenery and get the legs in shape for ski season. Meet at 10:00 in front of the State Park "Lodge” main visitor center. Sunday, September 23rd -- Bike Ride of the Month: the Old Plank Road Trail - 20 or 40 mile options available. The 40 mile option we'll meet at 9 AM and the 20 mile option we'll at 11 AM. Saturday, September 22nd -- Stock Car Dirt Track Racing: Spectator Championship Night at Sycamore Speedway, starts at 8pm - admission is $12. NOTE: you must be a member (your membership renewed) prior to this event in order to have trip signup priority. The location is the same as our general meetings - Hooters (click here for directions), 1301 W Butterfield Rd, Downers Grove (2 1/2 Blocks east of I-355 on the south side of Butterfield Road).
