9:00 AM MEET, 9:30 AM WE RIDE! We plan on meeting and parking just South of the Southwest corner of Butterfield Road (Route 56) and Winfield Road just off of Winfield Road in Warrenville -- at the Illinois Prairie Path. The bike ride will encompass 3 different forest preserves: Blackwell, Herrick Lake, and Danada. Each of these areas have unique trails, points of interest and are all interlinked by bike trails - see the separate trail maps below. The bike ride should be approximately 15 to 20 leisurely miles on crushed limestone (for the die-hard bikers there are other extended trails and the Illinois Prairie Path). Late morning we'll break in the Danada area for a light lunch or a snack. After we're finished biking, around 1 o-clock, we are invited to stop over to Karl and Shari Winter's house to take a refreshing dip in their beautiful swimming pool until 6 PM - see the map below for directions. Here are some things that you might want to bring on the ride: BICYCLE
LOCK WATER BOTTLE MONEY SPARE INNER TUBE 2-WAY RADIO (for swimming afterwards bring: a swimsuit, a towel, your own beverages and snacks) For
the Talkabout 2-way radio fans, we will be jabbering on channel 7 / band 7.
