9:00 AM MEET, 9:30 AM WE RIDE! This trail is one of the best bike trails in the Chicago area with few roads to cross, many bridges and is lined with trees. This trail winds along the Des Plaines River and is fairly flat with a crushed limestone surface - so thin tires are OK. Plan to ride at least 11 miles north (22 round trip) or you could continue on up to Wisconsin. This trail ROCKS! Directions: From
the northbound Tri-State Tollway 294, exit on Route 22 west. Continue
west 2 miles, turn right or slight right at Old Half Day Rd for .4 miles,
turn right at Milwaukee Ave (Route 21) and go north almost 1 mile and
enter the Half Day Preserve on the right. There is plenty of parking (we'll
try to meet in the 1st available parking lot - closest to the entrance).
